The platinum Drinkwell differs from the original Drinkwell as it’s shape has been redesigned and it now includes a built-in additional capacity reservoir so it now holds over a gallon and a quarter (178 fluid ounces) of water making it ideal for multi-cat households or small to medium dogs.
In addition to this the platinum uses a new design of motor which is fully submerged making it extremely quiet.
